ORGANIZER TALENT THEME – STRENGTHSEXPLORER

You can help your child discover their talent themes with the online Clifton Youth StrengthsExplorer. In the Clifton Youth StrengthsExplorer, there are in total 10 emerging talent themes. Today, we cover the talent theme of ORGANIZER.

Children with the ORGANIZER talent theme loves to get things organized and orderly.  Scheduling, planning and organizing are very natural behaviours of children with this theme.

It is energizing and fun for these children to want to plan ahead and be clear and certain of what will be happening.  They love to understand what needs to be done, what do they have and set about the task of arranging and organizing them.

It feel good for these children to know that everything is in place.  This does not just extend to the things that they do but may also be present in their personal disposition, for example being neat, timely, etc. They like rules and order and at the same time they may set rules for other children.

3 Things Parents Can Do To Help Their Children With The ORGANIZER Talent Theme

Here are 3 things that you can do: –

  1. Give them assignments in the classroom or around the house.  E.g. have them plan for an outing to the supermarket. Get them to create a shopping list, plan the time to go, and what’s needed to make the trip.  They relish the responsibility to be able to plan for something as important as that!
  2. Ask them for advice on helping you organize your own stuff.  You would be surprised what they can tell you that you do not know.  At the same time, they would feel really important that an adult is asking them for help.
  3. Together with your child, co-create a list of things that he or she needs to do everyday.  Make sure that the list is realistically do-able. They love such details as it helps them accomplish things and at the same time creates predictability in their schedule.

Experiment, Cherish And Enjoy

So there!  I hope the tips above would have been useful in helping your child.

The idea for you as a parent or educator is to create the environment of “flourishment” for your children.

Knowing the talent theme of your children gives you the clues to how you can flourish them by helping them recognize their talent themes and using them every day. Use this activity book to quickly and simply kick things into motion. Experiment with different approaches and scenarios and enjoy seeing your child come alive through their talent themes.

Remember: Every child is different and even if they have the same themes, their responses can be distinctly different in the same scenario.

Enjoy the time spent with your child in discovering and learning about their talents and strengths. Take it slow and enjoy the process.

If you want your child to be great in life, help them to know and resonate with the greatness of their unique talents that are already in them. Trust me. It is worth it!
