You can help your child discover their talent themes with the online Clifton Youth StrengthsExplorer. In the Clifton Youth StrengthsExplorer, there are in total 10 emerging talent themes. Today, we cover the first of the 10 themes – ACHIEVING.
Children with the ACHIEVING talent theme loves accomplishing things, getting things done, are energetic and are goal oriented. Compared to other children, they would seem to be more energetic and full of drive.
They would always want to be kept busy and would have a list of things that they would want to do every day. They find accomplishing goals lots of fun and sometimes, just achieving little things here and there really makes their day.
Needless to say, they feel good when they are able to complete their tasks and also when they are being recognised or praised for work done.
They are almost self-driven in wanting to do more things and by nature, they are hard working.

3 Things Parents Can Do To Help Their Children With The ACHIEVING Talent Theme
Here are 3 things that you can do: –
- Help your child make a list of things to do and at the end of each day, celebrate with your child on crossing off the checklist for every task that they had accomplished. Recognize them and praise them.
- Your child will be at his or her best when they are active and energetic. Find out what is it that they love to do and help and resource them in doing those things.
- Help your child to work hard not just for his or herself, but also to work hard with other children. This promotes the learning of teamwork at at young age and at the same time help them learn that more work can be done with other team members.
Experiment, Cherish And Enjoy
So there! I hope the tips above would have been useful in helping your child.
The idea for you as a parent or educator is to create the environment of “flourishment” for your children.
Knowing the talent theme of your children gives you the clues to how you can flourish them by helping them recognize their talent themes and using them every day. Use this activity book to quickly and simply kick things into motion. Experiment with different approaches and scenarios and enjoy seeing your child come alive through their talent themes.
Remember: Every child is different and even if they have the same themes, their responses can be distinctly different in the same scenario.
Enjoy the time spent with your child in discovering and learning about their talents and strengths. Take it slow and enjoy the process.
If you want your child to be great in life, help them to know and resonate with the greatness of their unique talents that are already in them. Trust me. It is worth it!
