CONFIDENCE TALENT THEME – STRENGTHSEXPLORER

You can help your child discover their talent themes with the online Clifton Youth StrengthsExplorer. In the Clifton Youth StrengthsExplorer, there are in total 10 emerging talent themes. Today, we cover the talent theme of CONFIDENCE.

Children with the CONFIDENCE talent theme are self-directed, independent and they do stand out from the pack. They do not feel the need to be like others. They don’t follow the crowd and they are comfortable in being different from other children.

They may be seen to be opinionated even though they may feel they are not. It is normal that they will speak their minds and thoughts. They do naturally take a stand in what they say and this often benefits them with a strong sense of self-belief. This, in turn, leads them to actively pursue what they want with perceived independence and confidence.

Their sense of confidence gives them a power and a sense of leadership that attracts other children.

3 Things Parents Can Do To Help Their Children With The CONFIDENCE Talent Theme

Here are 3 things that you can do: –

  1. Have your child tell you what they want to do and then help him/her accomplish it. Children with the CONFIDENCE talent theme will speak their minds on what they want. But don’t be fooled, they may need help in doing those things.
  2. Help your child think and envision. Help them articulate what they can see themselves doing. If they prefer, ask them to draw what they would like to do.  Help them to think big. And help them create the ability to accomplish them.
  3. Encourage your child to motivate and encourage other children.  It is very natural for your child to be able to self-motivate himself or herself.  In turn, when they have the opportunity to do it with other children, it builds upon their sense of self-belief and self-confidence.

Experiment, Cherish And Enjoy

So there!  I hope the tips above would have been useful in helping your child.

The idea for you as a parent or educator is to create the environment of “flourishment” for your children.

Knowing the talent theme of your children gives you the clues to how you can flourish them by helping them recognize their talent themes and using them every day. Use this activity book to quickly and simply kick things into motion. Experiment with different approaches and scenarios and enjoy seeing your child come alive through their talent themes.

Remember: Every child is different and even if they have the same themes, their responses can be distinctly different in the same scenario.

Enjoy the time spent with your child in discovering and learning about their talents and strengths. Take it slow and enjoy the process.

If you want your child to be great in life, help them to know and resonate with the greatness of their unique talents that are already in them. Trust me. It is worth it!
